This engine features advanced MultiAir® technology that increases power and torque while lowering fuel consumption and emissions. The engine takes advantage of a host of new engine components designed to reduce friction and enhance performance and fuel efficiency. It’s standard on Limited and Trailhawk® models and is paired with the class-exclusive nine-speed automatic transmission.
This powerful, fuel-efficient engine takes full advantage of our advanced MultiAir® technology. The system varies the volume of air consumed by the engine according to driving conditions resulting in better performance and lower fuel consumption. Standard on our Sport and Latitude models, exclusive with the six-speed manual transmission.
The All-New 2015 Jeep® Renegade is one of the first vehicles ever, and the only one in its class, to offer an available nine-speed automatic transmission. Every Renegade equipped with the 2.4L Tigershark® engine benefits from the transmission. The wider gear selection brings outstanding launch characteristics, remarkable efficiency and virtually unnoticeable shifts between gears.
A six-speed manual transmission is standard with the 1.4L MultiAir® Turbo Engine. The state-of-the-art design is part of a new group of transverse, three-shaft transmissions that are more compact, offer impressive fuel economy and low noise in the passenger compartment, especially at highway speeds.
The All-New 2015 Jeep® Renegade is available with two 4×4 systems: Jeep Active Drive on Sport, Latitude and Limited models and Jeep Active Drive Low on Trailhawk® models. Both systems feature a rear axle disconnect system that seamlessly switches between two and four-wheel drive to help increase efficiency when 4×4 capability isn’t needed. Both 4×4 systems give outstanding on-road performance and unmatched 4×4 capability. Jeep Active Drive Low adds to the Trailhawk model’s Trail Rated® capability with a 20:1 crawl ratio. Every Renegade 4×4 is equipped with available Selec-Terrain® traction control. The system allows the driver to tune traction settings according to road conditions. The Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud settings are specifically tailored to ensure optimum traction and fuel-efficient operation. Trailhawk® drivers get an additional Rock setting for serious off-road maneuvers.
The Renegade Trailhawk® lives up to the Jeep® brand’s legendary toughness with Best-in-Class 4×4 capability. In addition to the Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system, it’s also equipped with standard skid plates, a raised ride height, distinctive fascia for improved approach and departure angles and red tow hooks on both front and rear bumpers. It all contributes to Renegade Trailhawk earning the Trail Rated® badge.
